Community Prayer Service For Ukraine

Community Prayer Service For Ukraine

The community came together for an ecumenical prayer service for Ukraine, the Ukrainian people, and peace at noon on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 122 East Court St., Woodstock, VA.

Our hearts are broken by the scenes of suffering and devastation from the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This humanitarian crisis touches us all, and we call on our community—across all faith traditions—to join us in raising our voices in prayer on behalf of these brave people. The optional collection was divided between the World Central Kitchen and the ERD Ukraine Crisis Response Fund, but participants were encouraged to support the Ukraine relief effort of their choice.

We gathered outside in the church parking lot. The church also remained open for silent prayer after the service until 3 p.m. for anyone who wished to come and offer their prayers.
