  • All Virginia schools are closed at least for the rest of this school year. (Announced by the governor 3/23/20)
  • Shenandoah County Public Schools are offering a free breakfast and lunch program for ALL students. Breakfast and lunch can be picked up at our three middle schools, Signal Knob, Peter Muhlenberg, and North Fork from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please go to the loading docks at the back of the schools for contact-free pickup. If you have any questions, call 540-481-0867. Kids do not need to be present to get meals.
  • Shenandoah Memorial Hospital is in need of people to make and donate masks. More info.
  • Walmart offers curbside pickup through there app. They’re operating under reduced hours of 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Shaffer’s Catering and the Woodstock Cafe are offering sponsorship opportunities, where folks call in and order meals to be delivered to SMH health care staff. Contact them for more info.

If you’re able, please consider supporting local restaurants. Melissa put together a list of some of the ones listed as open with carry out and/or delivery. Before going, be sure to give them a call to make sure that hasn’t changed and to see if you need to place your order prior.
