“We never know what can happen when we feel called to follow Jesus’ gospel witness of welcome. Heeding such a call can require incredible courage. Sometimes this gospel way of welcome can lead us to put our very lives on the line. But Jesus’ way of welcome can inspire us to keep working to do what is right in a world where too often too much is wrong.”
~ Presiding Bishop Michael Curry

OCTOBER SERVICE AT SHRINE MONT
Sunday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. we’ll be having a joint service at Shrine Mont in the lower pavilion. We’ll be asking folks to wear masks and practice social distancing.

For lunch after, we’re going to be eating lunch in the dining room. Lunch is $14.75 per person, which can be paid directly to Mother Kathy as we need to pay in full before the date. If you plan to eat lunch at Shrine Mont, please RSVP using this form by Sun., Oct. 3 (we have to have a final count to Shrine Mont the morning of Oct. 4).

If you have concerns about covering the cost of lunch, please let Mother Kathy know. If you have any questions, please speak with Mother Kathy or Melissa.

PET BLESSING
Next Saturday, Oct. 2, Mother Kathy is offering pet blessings. She’ll be at Emmanuel from 11 to 11:30 a.m. then St. Andrew’s from 1 to 1:30 p.m. for folks to come by with their furry, feathered or scaled friends securely in carriers or on leashes (or bring a photo of them) for a drive up or stand-by-your car parking lot pet blessing.

URGENT: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT EMMANUEL’S TABLE FOOD PANTRY
We’re  in great need of volunteers to assist with ordering, inventory and to help Tillie with volunteer recruitment/scheduling. If you know anyone who may be interested in helping, please have them contact Mother Kathy ASAP.

As Barbara Kirkland says, “As the Body of Christ, our congregation is directed to ‘welcome the stranger, feed the hungry’ and twice a month we do this in Christ’s name asking only, ‘how many are in your family?’ Emmanuel’s Table is a way for us to BE the church, rather than just go to church. When you support us with your time, (sic) you are there with us as the face of Christ in the world.”

Volunteers are needed the Monday and Tuesday of pantry weeks. If you’re able to help, please contact Tillie for more details. The pantry is open monthly the second and fourth Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Sept. 28 is the next date). Sept. 14 the pantry served 39 families/76 people. If you know of anyone in need of food, please send them over. More info.

Our prayer list can be found on our website. If you have folks you’d like added to the prayer list, please email their names to Melissa.

WORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

SOCIAL DISTANCING AND MASK POLICY
Given the trends in the county infection rate, the Delta variant, CDC guidance and other pertinent information, everyone is required to wear masks at services, no matter vaccination status. We are also asking folks to maintain 6 feet of social distancing at all times, including skipping every other pew.

Our goal is to keep one another as safe as we possibly can. We are very concerned about the continued high rates of infection and transmission in ShenCo, combined with a low vaccination rate, and are monitoring the situation very closely. We urge everyone who is eligible to be vaccinated. Please keep an eye on our website and your email in case important updates need to be shared.
