ST. ANDREW’S UKRAINE CRISIS DONATION CHALLENGE
In an effort to do what we can to help with the ongoing crisis in the Ukraine, St. Andrew’s vestry has committed $2,000 of Outreach funds to the cause. Now, they are challenge everyone to come together to match — or even exceed — their donation between now and March 27.

To help match their donation and support the people of Ukraine, please send checks, made out to St. Andrew’s and noted that it is for the Ukraine fund, to St. Andrew’s P.O. Box 117 Mt. Jackson VA 22842. March 27 is the donation deadline.

At the end of the challenge, the vestry will announce how much was raised and will send all funds directly to the Episcopal Relief & Development fund created to provide humanitarian assistance to those fleeing the violence in Ukraine. Any donation, no matter how small, can make a difference to the more than 2 million people who have been displaced due to the violence. Please share this challenge with friends and family so we can raise as much money as possible to help our brothers and sisters.

PARISH DIRECTORY: FINAL EDITS
Edits are being finalized. Please take a final look and let Melissa know if you have any changes by Monday. We can’t make changes after that as they’re being printed.

The directory is available on our website. To access the file, you’ll need a password so please email Melissa for it. (You don’t have to sign up for a DropBox account to access the file. If a window pops up asking if you want to sign up for one, you can close that out to continue to the file.)

SERVERS NEEDED FOR HOLY WEEK
If you are available to serve on Maundy Thursday for the 6:30 p.m. service at St. Andrew’s, Good Friday at 12 p.m. at St. Andrew’s or Good Friday at 7 p.m. at Emmanuel, please let Mother Kathy or Melissa know by Mon., March 28.

Please also double check the reader schedule for Palm Sunday and Easter. If you’re unable to serve, please find a replacement and let Mother Kathy and Melissa know of the change.

We are looking for donations of baskets, candy and basket fillers for the GAP kids. Please drop everything off to either church by Thurs., April 7, (in the St. Andrew’s Room at St. Andrew’s and in the downstairs parlor at Emmanuel). If you have questions, please speak with Mother Kathy.

MONDAY: BECKFORD PARISH LENT BOOK STUDY
Every Monday during Lent at 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (March 21, 28; April 4, 11) we’re meeting via Zoom for a study of the book Reclaiming Rural: Building Thriving Rural Congregations by Allen T. Stanton. The book describes how by establishing a clear theological and rural identity, leaders can build a meaningful and vital ministry. As rural America continues to undergo massive economic and demographic shifts, rural churches are uniquely positioned to provide community leadership.

If you have missed previous sessions but would still like to join, you are welcome. Mother Kathy has a few books available. Please speak with her if you’d like to join or have any questions.

TUESDAY COMMUNITY LENTEN SERVICES
The Woodstock Ministerium is holding their annual Community Lenten Services again this year. They’ll be every Tuesday at 12 p.m. at WUMC. Mother Kathy leads the March 29 service. There is no luncheon.

SHRINE MONT SUMMER CAMPS
Camps for children ages 8 and up at Shrine Mont for summer 2022 are open for registration. If you know of a child who would benefit from these camps, we encourage you to explore the options. From art to sports to exploring the great outdoors, this year’s camps will include both new activities as well as beloved camp programs and traditions. And with two sessions of Family Camp, there’s something for everyone. Spots are filling up fast, but there are still a few openings left! Visit www.shrinemontcamps.net for dates, rates, and programs. Scholarships are available so please do not let cost be a deciding factor. Please speak with Mother Kathy if you have questions.
