“However, this is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. I fear becoming a Miniver Cheevy (remember your high school English) who mourned over the life he could not live as a medieval knight instead of living the life given to him in the present moment. I am trying not to lament what didn’t happen during COVID nor fear what might happen in the future. Instead, I am praying to be like the voice of the poem and discover, ‘Little corners like this, pieces of Heaven left lying around, [which] can be picked up and saved.'”
~ Bishop Porter Taylor
THIS SUNDAY: SERVICE AT SHRINE MONT
This Sunday at 11 a.m. we’ll be having a joint service at Shrine Mont in the lower pavilion. We’ll be asking folks to wear masks and practice social distancing.
If you have any questions, please speak with Mother Kathy or Melissa.
HALLOWEEN ON COURT SQUARE
Sat., Oct. 30, Woodstock is doing their annual Halloween on Court Square. The parish is participating by putting together individual bags of candy with the churches’ info for kids to pick up from a table in front of Emmanuel. Given current COVID rates, we won’t be having volunteers hand it out directly.
If you’d like to help with this effort, funds would be greatly appreciated. Checks can be made out to Emmanuel with a note that it’s for Halloween and mailed to or dropped off at the office door mail slot at Emmanuel or placed in the large envelope marked “Halloween” on the table in St. Andrew’s fellowship hall by the masks.
If you have any questions, please let Mother Kathy or Melissa know.

WORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
SOCIAL DISTANCING AND MASK POLICY
Given the trends in the county infection rate, the Delta variant, CDC guidance and other pertinent information, everyone is required to wear masks at services, no matter vaccination status. We are also asking folks to maintain 6 feet of social distancing at all times, including skipping every other pew.
Our goal is to keep one another as safe as we possibly can. We are very concerned about the continued high rates of infection and transmission in ShenCo, combined with a low vaccination rate, and are monitoring the situation very closely. We urge everyone who is eligible to be vaccinated. Please keep an eye on our website and your email in case important updates need to be shared.
