Food Pantry Holiday Donation Drive

Food Pantry Holiday Donation Drive

This joyous holiday season as you select charities to support, we ask that you keep Emmanuel’s Table Food Pantry in mind. Every donation, big or small, is appreciated to help us feed a number of the many friends and neighbors in ShenCo who experience food insecurity.

Each week at Emmanuel’s Table, we typically serve 180 to 210 local people. Anyone in need, no matter religion, race, age, ability or language spoken, is served with dignity and respect (and a smile!) every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. As one of only two pantries in the county that are need vs income based and open weekly, our ShenCo neighbors rely on the pantry. Every bag of food given out means one less empty table and more tummies filled instead of hungry. Most of our visitors are elderly or young children with parents who need a little help to make sure everyone is fed. On Thanksgiving, Emmanuel Episcopal and the food pantry partner to host a Thanksgiving dinner for all our visitors and anyone in the community who might otherwise have a celebration.

Emmanuel’s Table is run entirely by volunteers and donations. All money that comes into the pantry  goes directly to the purchase of food. A partnership with Blue Ridge Area Food Bank allows us to buy food at extremely discounted prices so that we can keep the shelves stocked for the lowest cost possible. Four meals can be purchased for only $1!

Whether you donate $5 or $100, your donation makes a direct difference to people that need a little help during a difficult time. We would also love to partner with area organizations for a food/monetary donation drive. If your group is interested in this, please email beckfordparishoffice at gmail.com. If you’re not able to give right now, sharing this information is appreciated as well.

Your donations are all tax deductible as the pantry is run by Emmanuel Episcopal Church. We’re happy to supply a donation receipt upon request and are able to accept both cash and checks. If you feel inclined to give, you may send donations to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 122 E. Court St., Woodstock VA 22664. All checks should be made out to the church with “food pantry” notated.

A heartfelt thank you for your support!
