The re-organized Emmanuel Outreach Committee met in June and has identified their focus as “Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” aiming efforts at families and children in our Woodstock and Shenandoah County areas. We will continue receiving donations for the Shenandoah Alliance for Shelter on Mission Sunday each month.
For July, the committee is sending a $500 check to Emmanuel’s Table. In future months, checks will go to earmarked groups. A small amount will be held back to help with any unexpected community emergency in 2019.
The hope is that along with monetary gifts, there will be service by parishioners in the form of volunteer work with these projects and also our community events such as Halloween on Court Square in October and Light up Woodstock in December.
There will be monthly updates so that you are aware of the Outreach effort each month. We’d welcome anyone to join our Committee or make suggestions.
