In a recent article by Miriam Willard McKenney for the BuildingFaith newsletter, I was introduced to AdventWord. “AdventWord is an Advent calendar that we can use in so many ways. AdventWord offers a way to prepare each day of Advent with a word from the scriptures we hear on Sundays. AdventWord is brought to you by Forward Movement, the folx (sic) who bring you Forward Day by Day and Lent Madness.”
From the AdventWord website: “As we await the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we invite you to find quiet moments of reflection to help you stay connected to your faith, to others, and to God.”
The website offers many ways for individuals, families, and groups to incorporate these words into their Advent activities and rituals, and you can sign up to get a daily email. But in this post I just wanted to share the words and let you meditate on them, pray about them, journal about them, or just think about what they mean to your own personal faith journey.
