A Historic Beckford Parish Christmas
Advent and Christmas are going to look a bit different this year. To make the season more festive and to bring us all together, we’re launching the Historic Beckford Parish Christmas Project.
A Historic Beckford Parish Christmas Booklet
What makes Christmas special for you that you’d like to share with the church family? Maybe you have a delicious cookie recipe or a side that simply must be made for Christmas dinner every year. Is there a craft you think others might enjoy making? Or, maybe you look forward to driving around to look at Christmas lights every year. Perhaps there’s a Christmas carol that puts you in the holiday spirit whenever you hear hear it. If you’ve got a pet who likes to dress up for Christmas, we’d love to see a photo!
Whether it’s a favorite Christmas recipe, craft, tradition, memory, a photo — or a couple of these — we’d like you to share it so it can be compiled into the A Historic Beckford Parish Christmas booklet. We’ll also be sharing some on our Facebook page, website, in Weekly Updates and maybe even during Advent services.
Christmas Greetings
Saying, “Merry Christmas” to one another is a Christmas tradition we all hold dear. Mother Kathy is working with folks to get videos of them wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. The videos are going to be used for our Christmas Eve service. If you’d like to record a greeting, you can take one of yourself and email it to Mother Kathy. Or, you can set up a time with her to do a recording at St. Andrew’s or even at your home (socially distanced and masked).
If you’d prefer, you can submit a Christmas message to Melissa to be included in the booklet.
Due Dates
To make this project a success, we’re asking folks to email or mail Melissa what you’d like to share. You can use this PDF as a template of what to include (it can also be printed and mailed to Emmanuel — 122 E. Court St., Woodstock VA 22664. If you’re mailing it, please be sure it will arrive by the due date.)
Please make sure Melissa receives your submission by Friday, Dec. 4, so that it’s included. Please send Christmas greetings videos to Mother Kathy or arrange to record by Friday, Dec. 4. If you’d only like your submission shared on Facebook, our website, and/or the Weekly Update, you can have it in by Friday, Dec. 11.
