Dear Fellow Episcopalians,
My email to you is requesting your assistance with a very special event — the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Drive In, which will be held at Shenandoah County Administration Building parking lot in Woodstock Sept. 26, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
You may have seen/read the large announcement in the NVD. The last time I saw it was this past Saturday, 9/12. I am representing Emmanuel on the First Baptist Church-Woodstock & Friends Relay for Life team, which is comprised of members from several different churches, with team leader – George Brinkley.
As you know this year has been quite a different year since March, and we have not been able to put on most of our fundraisers!! My request is if you would like to purchase any luminaries (see below for details) or make a monetary donation, please let me know by Friday, Sept. 25. If purchasing any luminaries or making a monetary donation, please make the check payable to American Cancer Society and on the memo line write Shenandoah County Relay for Life so it will be used in Shenandoah County.
My contact information is in the directory. Feel free to call or text. You can mail a check, or I’d be happy to come pick it up as the event is soon!
Each year Relay for Life teams sell luminaries. They are on sale until Sept. 25. You may select:
1. white bags: $5.00 each with the message “In memory of __” or “In honor of __”
2. purple bags: $15.00 each for “caregivers”
3. gold bags: $25.00 each with the message “In memory of__” or “In honor of__”
Let me know what message you would like and I will write it on each luminary you purchase then will place them in the parking lot with all the others on 9/26.
Any way you are able to help in this fight against CANCER would be greatly appreciated by so many!
Thanking you in advance,
