FALL SERVICES AT SHRINE MONT
Thank you to everyone who came out to Shrine Mont last week. We had about 37 people for the service. It was wonderful to be together again on a beautiful day in a special setting. Of course, the fried chicken lunch was delicious!
We’ll be at Shrine Mont again Sunday, Oct. 13. If you’re coming on your own and prefer to not sit alone, please email Mother Kathy or Melissa. We have a few groups coming (including Mother Kathy for lunch) that you’re welcome to sit with.
For those coming for lunch: We need to pay ahead of time so ask that on that Sunday you bring a check in the amount of $14.75 per person made out to Emmanuel with “discretionary” in the memo. Checks can go to Mother Kathy.
Here is info about safety requirements and how to RSVP. RSVPs for Oct. 18 are due by Sunday, Oct. 11. If you have any questions or concerns please let Mother Kathy or Melissa know.
PET BLESSING NEXT SUNDAY
Our are always a source of friendship, love and comfort. This is especially true this year given all we’ve gone through. At the service next Sunday Mother Kathy is offering a virtual pet blessing for all our special furred, feathered, finned and scaled friends. If you have friends who would like to come with their pet, please invite them. Every human and animal is welcome!
SOUTHERN SHENANDOAH WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY
Every Wednesday, the Episcopal churches in Elkton, Harrisonburg, Luray, Mt. Jackson, Port Republic, Stanley, and Woodstock are having an online Bible study from 7 to 8 p.m. You can join online via Zoom. This group allows us to get together with others in our own parish and ones nearby so we can build community while continuing our study. If you have any question, please let Mother Kathy know.
EMMANUEL’S TABLE FOOD PANTRY
The pantry is open Oct. 13 and 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you know anyone in need, please send them over.
If you’re interested in volunteering with the pantry, contact our new volunteer coordinator, Tillie Kaufmann . She can answer any questions you may have.
OCTOBER PLEDGES
Now more than ever, your pledges make a difference. You can mail current or past month’s pledges (time seems to get away from us, doesn’t it?) to the church offices. Your pledges are very appreciated as they’re what allow us to keep the churches operating and our community supports going out to those in need.
