Emmanuel’s Table Food Pantry needs your help!
We are seeking a volunteer (or two) who can devote approximately eight hours a month to taking inventory, ordering and determining what to place in pre-packaged bags. If you’re a detail-oriented person who is comfortable with computers and loves to be part of a team, we’d love to speak with you about volunteering.
Volunteers are required to wear a mask and social distance and must be 18 or older for this particular position.
If you’re interested or would like more information, please contact The Rev. Kathleen Murray, at 540-459-2720 or send a message.
ABOUT THE PANTRY
Emmanuel’s Table is open on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Deliveries are unloaded and bags are pre-packed the day before. We rely entirely on volunteers to run the pantry, including taking inventory, ordering, picking up deliveries, packing bags and distributing food. Our volunteers are passionate, energetic, and love being part of a team.
The pantry, which is need-based, provides food to about 70 families every other week – a third more than was typical before COVID-19. “Since last year, Emmanuel’s Table has been able to continue to provide much-needed food to an increasing number of people in the community. The food needs of the community continue to be a priority for Emmanuel Episcopal Church and Beckford Parish,” said The Rev. Kathleen Murray, rector.
