Holiday Parish Closures & Cancellations

Parish Offices Parish offices are closed until Wed., Jan. 2, 2019, so our staff can enjoy being with their families between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Bible Study There is no Bible Study on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) or New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31) Emmanuel’s Table Food Pantry The food pantry is closed on Christmas Day. It is open the usual time, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tues., Jan. 1.

A Special Message from Mother Kathy

As Thanksgiving approaches and we take stock of that which we have to be grateful, we find ourselves experiencing heartache as well. Recently, our country has been faced with acts of unspeakable hatred through mass shootings as eleven people were murdered at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh and another twelve were murdered in Thousand Oaks. In Kentucky another two people were murdered merely for being people of color. During this difficult time, we stand with our Jewish brothers…

Women’s Gathering Location Change 11/9/18

The parish women are getting together this Friday, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m. at the Woodstock Presbyterian Church (next door to Emmanuel) instead of Bryce due to a power outage there. The Presbyterian men are offering a pork tenderloin dinner, free will offering, with proceeds benefiting an ESL class they support at their church. Carry out meals are $12. Everyone is invited to bring your pet to the St. Andrew’s parking lot on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 1:00pm for an outdoor pet blessing. Invite your friends too. We will move to the parish hall if the weather is too poor to be outside. 
Joint Parish Service - Bluegrass Band

Joint Parish Celebration October 7

St. Andrew’s and Emmanuel are coming together for a joint First Sunday service and Oktoberfest celebration on Oct. 7 at 11:15 a.m. at Emmanuel. After the service, enjoy the music of bluegrass band Seldom Serious and a potluck Oktoberfest luncheon. To sign up to bring a dish, contact Joy Bauserman at Emmanuel or Marcia Brownfield at St. Andrew’s.  Note: This is the only parish service that day. Our three Sunday services on September 30 are at the usual times and places.

Rummage Sale 2018 Success

We raised over $1,500!  This will be distributed to local non-profits in the upcoming months. All hands were needed and we really appreciate everyone who accepted the challenge to help with this project, including folks from Emmanuel. The donations keep on giving Leftover items were packed up after the sale and taken to the Clothes Closet in Woodstock. Thanks to those who showed up with trucks to help us transport everything. Beckford Parish is so happy to welcome our new Parish Administrator, Melissa Sorokas. Parish Service and Picnic at Shrine Mont

Sunday, July 29, 2018 We’ll have the picnic pavilion from 11am to 3pm. Our joint celebration of Holy Eucharist will be at the Shrine from noon until 12:45 pm. We will have a golf cart to help with transporting back and forth for the event. Beckford Women’s Monthly Gathering Tonight

The Beckford Parish Women’s Group is getting together at the Spring House Tavern Inn in Woodstock this Friday Night (tonight, July 13, 2018!) at 6pm for a social half hour and ordering meals will start at 6:30. Record Numbers Served at Emmanuel’s Table

They came and the Lord provided Tuesday morning (6/12/18) we were inundated before we had time to open the door  The staircase was lined well before 9 am, and a steady stream continued for the rest of the morning. We served 33 households representing 135 individuals. Four had never been to the Pantry before.  Fortunately, our shelves were fully stocked and multiple buckets lined the hallway with fresh produce.  By noon, buckets and shelves were almost bare.  Which is good!…
