UPDATING THE PRAYER LIST
Please take a moment to review the prayer list to see if there are any names you’ve added that can now be removed. You can email the names to Melissa. Thank you to everyone who has already contacted her.
Starting June 1, we’re starting a new prayer list process. Every two months, the prayer list will be updated so that we make sure it stays current. We’ll include a note in The Beckford Connection for two weeks before so if there is anyone that needs to remain on the list, you can let Melissa know before the update. This will not apply to those in the military, health care workers or those at home.
A FEW WORDS ABOUT SUNDAY’S SERVICE FROM MOTHER KATHY
We have reached a moment we have long anticipated, when COVID-19 cases have declined as vaccination rates have risen. We are beginning a new phase of life living with COVID-19.
Governor Northam has lifted the mask mandate in Virginia for those who have been fully vaccinated.
As of May 28, Bishop Goff has updated diocesan guidelines and given local clergy more autonomy with respect to necessary safety measures for individual parishes.
Just over 1/3 of all Virginians are fully vaccinated and children under the age of 12 are not yet eligible to be vaccinated. The love of Jesus Christ calls us to consider the needs of all people in the Kingdom of God. I ask you to continue to show care for and honor one another – I will continue to wear a mask indoors in public places where I cannot guarantee everyone is fully vaccinated. I will remove a mask while leading worship and preaching from a safe social distance.
Pursuant to diocesan directives, we continue to refrain from using the common cup and a common communion wafer or loaf of bread.
It’s almost as if we are back at the beginning of the pandemic where things can and will change on a regular basis. So please bear with us as we make our move back to in-person worship. I can almost assure you that there will be new information to share next week.

They are still seeking a volunteer (or two) who can devote approximately eight hours a month to taking inventory, ordering and determining what to place in pre-packaged bags. If you’re a detail-oriented person who is comfortable with computers and loves to be part of a team, we’d love to speak with you about volunteering.
Volunteers are required to wear a mask and social distance and must be 18 or older for this particular position.
If you’re interested or would like more information, please contact Mother Kathy. If you know someone who is interested, please pass along this info.
