Remembering Jack Bauserman

Beckford Parish has lost a beloved long-time parishioner with the death of Jack Bauserman on July 5. Jack was a dedicated member of Emmanuel, serving as Junior Warden on the Vestry. He will be remembered for his humor and strong personality at the core of which was his kind heart. A celebration of his life will be held on August 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Emmanuel. Food Pantry Summer Donation Drive

The food pantry is in need of funds so that we can stock our shelves and keep helping the community. Since school is out and kids no longer have access to free/reduced breakfasts and lunches, the number of families we’re serving is increasing. Cash donations are extremely important so that we can continue to help everyone who comes to us each Tuesday. Emmanuel Outreach Committee Sets Goals

The re-organized Emmanuel Outreach Committee met in June and has identified their focus as “Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” aiming efforts at families and children in our Woodstock and Shenandoah County areas. We will continue receiving donations for the Shenandoah Alliance for Shelter on Mission Sunday each month. For July, the committee is sending a $500 check to Emmanuel’s Table. In future months, checks will go to earmarked groups. A small amount will be held back to help with any unexpected community…

Backpack Drive

Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office Backpack Drive Each summer, the sheriff’s office in conjunction with Social Services takes donations in order to support underprivileged students of ShenCo who may not otherwise get a backpack and school supplies for the upcoming school year. Beckford Parish is making a monetary donation to support this effort and the wonderful officers who take this on each year. UPDATE: July 28 Picnic at Shrine Mont

St. Andrew’s and Emmanuel are having a summer picnic joint service at Shrine Mont July 28, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (service is at 12 p.m.). We are in need of volunteers to serve, take a shift at the grill, and to bring supplies and food.
